The human, social, and economic harm being out of work unnecessarily is real and significant. To put it simply, chronic work disability is harmful. Without a successful RTW outcome, workers are at 2-3x the risk of developing co-morbid conditions, 2-3x the risk of developing mental health problems, and 20% increase in mortality.

Chronic unnecessary work disability is not the result of a lack of available information or research to successfully address the matter; to argue otherwise is counterproductive to making meaningful change in the outcomes for injured and/or ill workers. Instead, the problem arises from the lack of a cohesive, evidence-based, and unifying approach that is sufficient to address the modifiable determinants that impact on worker Vocational Recovery and RTW outcomes.

At Centricity we aim to provide you with the most current and evidence-based curriculum of content to solve the work disability problem, improve the vocational recovery experience, and create substantial and sustainable RTW outcomes.

Why not focus on the worker's recovery?  

There is mounting evidence that health outcomes and RTW outcomes do not track well together.  Evidence is gathering that simply focusing on recovery is not sufficient to move the needle on duration and RTW outcomes.  And in fact, this focus can put your organization at risk of increasing duration for the most vulnerable group of workers who are experiencing work disability. 

Without focusing on Return to Work as an outcome there is no central focus, no unifying purpose for all the stakeholders, and no deliberate effort to prevent the harm of unnecessary Work Disability.  The whole concept of preventing Work Disability relies on RTW as an outcome and this make RTW a strategic initiative for all stakeholders.

Why not focus on the worker's experience?

There is mounting evidence that providing "good" customer service and duration do not track well together.  In fact, there is evidence that providing these "service" elements do not impact on RTW outcomes.  Customer service is not a proxy for engagement.
